Market Basket 6 July 2016

This weeks market basket looks at fresh seafood.  At the markets we are lucky to have two great seafood shops filled with fresh produce from local suppliers and around Australia.  Sea Harvest Australia and FishCo Downunder have a great variety and their knowledge of seafood is fantastic.  So this week we are looking at the Aussie prawn.

‘For a fresh and simple mid-week dish the whole family will appreciate, we suggest whipping up a homemade Garlic Prawn Pasta. Using very little ingredients this easy yet delicious dish takes no time at all to cook and prepare. Prawns are very low in calories, and packed with nutrition. They are a high source of protein, and full of the vitamin B-12 which aids your body in producing energy, for all our avid runners etc.

HEALTHY TIP: We all know it’s the season of the cold and flu, and garlic is a natural remedy for fighting off cold and flu symptoms. Garlic is a great decongestant and full of health benefits, cooking foods with garlic can be an effective way to get rid of or prevent a cold.
