Cauliflower $2.99 each this week - a good source of vitamin C, potassium and folic acid. Select cauliflower with a clean, white head and firm, compact flower clusters. The leaves should not be wilted and the stalks should have a fresh appearance.
Leeks –2 for $4 on special this week - a good source of vitamins A,C and E. Look for leeks that have long, white crunchy stems. Avoid buying leeks that are yellowed, split, or which have crispy or wilted leaves
Short-Cut Bacon- There is a lot of ‘pork powered’ protein in bacon which is extremely valuable when trying to maintain energy levels.
