Supported by Canberra United, Canberra’s premier women’s soccer team, players presented gifts to children on behalf of loop and the Tom Efkarpidis Foundation yesterday.
“This is an opportunity to give the children a positive experience during their time in the ward which can often be very straining for their families, particularly leading up to Christmas”, says Maria Efkarpidis, director of the Tom Efkarpidis Foundation.
Players Christine Walters, Georgia Yeoman-Dale, Jennifer Bissett, Hayley Raso and Captain Ellie Brush were among the team who kindly donated their time to support this contribution to the hospital.
“We enjoy taking time to help the community whenever we can, it is wonderful to support the children in need” says Captain, Ellie Brush.
Children from the paediatric and adolescent wards have received a collection of sports balls, scrapbooks, colouring pencils, dolls and trucks along with a variety of gift vouchers for iTunes.
